2 comments so far (post your own)I heard this man on a podcast, it's stunning that Aguirre, the first Mexican-American Star in the NBA, isn't in the Hall. Stunning that he's not there. Carrying Dallas for 7 years, taking a team of almost good enough and rejects into the playoffs in 1984 and a playoff win, yet NOT all-NBA????? (looking it up, guys named Kurt Nimphius, Pat Cummings, and Bill Garrett started, none more than CBA players...). 2 championships, but based simply on what he did in Dallas and DePaul he's a Hall player easily. 25 ppg and 8 rpg in College, then 25 and 6 in Dallas on an expansion team back when they had it hard, only player in NBA history with 20 ppg average and 900+ games played and not in the Hall, only player with 20 ppg and 700+ games and 2 titles and not in the Hall. What a joke, how can he not be in, sounds political.. Posted by JonoBoy on 06/10/2025 @ 17:49pm |
Let's see; Aguirre was Player of the Year, nationally, in High School. Two-time All-American, unanimous, and multi-Player of the Year, set the record for single-game scoring in the Final 4 for a team most people expected to be under .500, had the first truly great year by a Freshman and really still top-5, team lost 10 games in 3 years only; 25/8/3 slash shooting 55%. At Dallas was the NBA's first Mexican-descent star, took a terrible team to the playoffs and won a series in 1984 (how he wasn't All-NBA that year is idiotic); 25/6/4 slash in Dallas, 5 playoffs, 1 trip to the Western Finals, game 7, 4 series wins. 23/7/4, shot .492. Then 2 NBA championships. Posted by DSC on 01/16/2025 @ 17:17pm |
